The Yielding

Often times, we pour ourselves into endeavors we hoped would be of benefit to our life's path. After a while, we then realize things aren't what they seem; just a placebo.

The past few weeks gave me more insight to what this work is saying to me personally. For years, we ate the apple lies. We gladly embraced the drops of oil from the fruit. Enticing it seemed. With our eyes closed in belief we felt our lives would be better afterwards. Unknowing to us, it's just a facade. The apple giver who happens to be the government, have no interest in our development. They have weaponized poverty so they can keep feeding us with apple lies. The drops of oil ain't drops of oil. They become water as they touch our skins; a mirage.

Enough is enough. The change is here.

The apple signifies temptation; an attraction; a trap. The hand holding the apple is faceless. Little wonder we don't really get to know people for who they are before we allow them influence us as long as they seem attractive with sweet talks and false promises.

There's a oil all of the hand and the apple. It's something to further beautify this attraction and connection between that that is being tempted and this faceless hand. This was inspired by a photo by Ima Mfom

The female subject represents us. She is beautiful which depicts the state of our dreams and potentials. Pure as always; ready to trust.
